WOTD: Prepone

Quite simply, the opposite of postpose; to schedule something in advance.

It’s funny, people use the word ‘postpone’ all the time, but when was the last time that you heard someone say ‘prepone’? I didn’t even realise that it was a word.

WOTD: Empowerment

Empowerment refers to increasing the social, political, spiritual or economic strength of an individual or community.

WOTD: Ostentatious

Intended to attract notice and impress other people. Occasionally tawdry or vulgar.

In modern English language, a myriad is an unspecified large indefinite number. It is also a classical Greek for the number 10,000

This word was in the book I am currently reading, that’s the reason that it is my word of the day.

The voluntary promotion of human welfare, generousity in assistance to the poor. Donating money, services, goods, time and/or effort to a beneficial cause.

Today I really struggled to think of a word, I have no idea why.

The word zeitgeist describes the intellectual, cultural, ethical and political climate, ambience and morals of an era. This German language expression is literally translated into ‘time spirit’ (Zeit meaning time, and Geist spirit.)
